Knowing my boss would be coming over to my office, I made sure I drove my new 87 Spider to work. He peeked in my office and asked, "Who's Alfa Romero is that?"

Is it proper to correct your boss and make him look foolish? ;)

Or should I have said, "Mine. Is that your Nissan Maxirma out there?"

(Note: As hard as it was, I used some restraint and just let it go! No use annoying him off more than I normally do!)

It's the least expensive car I've ever purchased or driven to work!

He doesn't set my raises...just suggests to the "powers that be." The actual raise comes NO WHERE NEAR what has been suggested, so I'm not really concerned! ;)

Plus, I didn't "show" it to him...I let him discover it. He'd eventually see me in it.

I would say "Yep" just got it! But would not make the gramatical correction.

ha, nice.

A good call, no point correcting him and making him feel bad.

Just say, "Oh, yes that's my '87 Alfa Romeo spider." That way you pronounce it correctly, and if he is perceptive he will get the message without you explictly pointing it out.

Alfa Romero

Well, at least he didn't ask if that was your "Alpha Romero" !

Hmm, or maybe he did.

I wouldn't peg this guy as someone who is going to invite you along to his private track days. But, at least he tried.
