I posted this question in the middle of another thread, so thought it best to start a new one also..

i have heard of a few people taking the belt off of their ps pump to disable it and have heard the responses from people that this is not the greatest of all solutions for those who want manual steering, as the guts of the pump will create a lot of extra steering effort ( understandably ).

My question is as to whether you can disconnect the hoses from the ps pump, remove the banjos and just connect them together with a hose connector.

Im wondering if this might work for purposes of cutting out the pump in case of failure, or as a temporary measure for those who might want to see what a 'manualised' rack would be like to live with.

Any ideas?
