So my 91 S has been sitting for a couple of weeks and i took her for a drive today.
She started up fine, idled fine, engine rev'd fine with no load.
Got out onto the road and the car started losing power above 3000 rpm and wouldn't get past 5000. And after that the idle started getting rough.
Checked all the connections under the hood (idle stabilizer, AFM, throttle position, etc...) and everything seems connected. No CEL codes flashing.

Any one experience something like this before? Ideas?

As an aside, where is the OBD 1 connector located? I have a software program for connecting to my 89 porsche which is also has motronic FI of the similar generation and am curious if it can connect and pull and reset codes. (the program actually connects with the motronic, ABS and climate control computers).

advance is handled by the motronic ecu. but you are correct in that it feels like an older style ignition when theadvance on the distributor goes out of whack.

This reminds me of an 86 GTV6 I traded a ratty old El Camino for years ago. It would fall on its sword about 3k, too.

Ended up it was the engine ECU.

Lets us know what you find it the cause.
