I don't really consider this a "favorite" racing picture, but it sure was amazing to see it happen! From the 1999 Le Mans 24 hour...this photo was actually from the 'pre-race' warm-up...as most of you know this happened again DURING the race!

Sir Jack Brabham pushing his Cooper Climax T51 across the finish line at Sebring International Raceway in 1959. He claimed the first of his three Formula 1 World Championships with his fourth place finish.

Im loving this,amazing pics Love the flying Alfa and the Merc I remember watching that incident on TV ,cant imagine what the driver would be thinking at that moment :eek::p

I can tell you exactly what he was thinking: "This is going to hurt!"

I know the only really bad shunt I had, that is exactly what came out of my mouth. I saw Lewis Hamilton interviewed on Top Gear once and he was asked a question something like "what do you think when you see you are going to crash" and he said "This is going to hurt!" I think it is probably universal.

This thread is a great idea. I will look through my pictures and see what I have.

LOL! That's the reaction that I had, too. I can remember when he made his rookie run at Indy. (Yes, I AM that old) :)
