The non Alfa. Its a 1969 Datsun 2000 roadster with pretty much all the cool parts. The engine is a 2l SOHC with dual Mikuni 44Phh carbs. The cylinder head is a Rebello Racing built race head with custom valves and guides. The bottom end is bored .060 over with a knife edged crank, full balanced. 10lb Tilton flywheel. The rear end is a 4.11:1 LSD. This is my first car. I have built it from the ground up, and what it lacks in looks it makes up for in go. Its loud, brash, and fast. The engine is making about 200Hp at the crank, and the car weighs 2000lbs. It will run away from my GTV without breaking a sweat. The Alfa can't do anything better than the roadster except look pretty and be a comfortable ride. The Alfa does get better gas milage. Women seem less afraid of the Alfa as well (perhaps its the 5 point race harnesses, and the ungodly loud exhaust that are intimidating.)

1968 Ford Fairlane. Owned it since I was 18, I'm 51 now and I just rebuilt the motor, again.
It was in the Ron Howard movie 'Eat My Dust'. I bought it as a hulk and put it back together with very little money, but a lot of motivation. I always told myself, 'Paint don't make it go!' and 'If it don't go, Chrome it!'.

This is a shot of the 1st of 2 blown rear ends. My cousin helped with this repair just outside of a junk yard in Sacramento.
The 2nd was in Paw-Paw Michigan in sub-zero weather. I swapped the rear end myself with the tools I had on the side of the Highway. The same tools you see in the photo. I was a boy scout as a kid. Always be prepared. I cheated a bit, I bought the new pumpkin from a local Michigan junk yard.
I love this old machine.

This little Fiat and wifely in the background are both quite underrated and underpriced. Both come very close, but no cigar, to the Alfa spider that is several times the "value" book wise. I totaled a 69 Datsun 2000 once and like the slower little Fiat better overall. No this one isn't totaled yet. I hate that dent in the rear fender, but then I would have to redo the original pinstripes on all the rest of the car. . .

picking a fav out of my "lot" of toys is hard......considering right now i consider the gtv6 my FAV as its simply the most fun
my "first" car and ill never part with her..69 1/2 CUDA..loud nasty and all buisness

second on the list right now is my "project" that ive hinted at its a 1958 lloyd alexander TS......i was NEVER going to be happy withthe 25HP 600cc air cooled 2cyl.....sooooooo she is getting ALOT of custom touches and alot of 50s lead sled influance from my own hands..as well as FULL milano suspension and 2.5 v6 and lsd platinum transaxle...in esscence it will be a light weight gtv6 in a 50s lead sled body and "should" be under 1800lbs when done
....just wish i had some linkable more recent shots of it with the jag'ed headlights and what not

well i've never owned an alfa. i've owned 2 other cars other than the TT, which were a 1993 Nissan Sentra SE-R (which was a GREAT car, quick, light, and very good fun) and a 1993 Volvo 850 (my swedish dictator car...i loved it).
but the TT has been brilliant. And no matter what other cars i own in the future, i will ALWAYS have a special place for the TT in my heart. It's a very special car.

It was reliable, stylish, comfortable, cruised all day on the highway, unique, had AC, power steer, central locking, injection and 4 wheel disks. A revelation for its era like only an S class can be.
