'64 Spider Normale (Bought new), now "abnormale"; '91 Spider Veloce

While I upgrade the seats for my '91 Spider Veloce, I see that the chrome on one of the adjustment knobs is peeling. IMG-2177.jpg Is the knob removable, if so, any source available? If not, would "chrome" spray be a suitable remedy? Thanks.

Yes, the "chrome" covers just pry off.

But would spray chrome look any better? Doubtful in my mind. That stuff is just glorified silver paint and from my experience it doesn't wear very well. I'd think that scraping off the peeling finish and spraying the covers with a more durable paint (black perhaps?) would look better, though not original.

Hi bal4833: Do you have any suggestion on how to remove the "shiny insert"/chrome cover? So far, attempts at prying it off are a bit sketchy, but I'll keep trying.
