I'm thinking of buying an Astro 4550 pneumatic paint shaker but a few questions before making the purchase decision:
  • Does any body have experience with them and are they worth the money?
  • How do they compare to the Central Pneumatic paint shakers Harbor Freight sells?
  • Can they hold aerosol cans (which is the main reason I would be buying it)?
Any opinions or advice is very welcome.

We had a Central Pneumatic paint shaker. It was inexpensive, but didn't hold up. We replaced it with a used Miller electric paint shaker that can do 2 gallons or quarts at once. The thing is built like a tank (it weighs over 120 lbs.). It is much quieter than the pneumatic shaker and has run flawlessly for years. I suggest picking up a used electric paint shaker like the Miller or Red Devil. These are heavy units, so finding one locally would save on shipping. We never tried shaking aerosol cans with it though.
