Parts Car 11000 original miles

I have been looking at a wrecked 1991 Spider with just under 11000 original miles on the car and thinking about purchasing the car to fix up a 1991 Spider Automatic I'm purchasing. I will probably use the door mirrors and a lot of interior & trunk parts to make my new purchase look new again. I'll also be using the soft top and frame from the parts car. Since the car I'm purchasing is an automatic and the parts car is a 5 speed there will be a lot of mechanical parts that are like new that I will need to part with. The entire rear of the car from the windshield back is fine and in perfect condition. I was wondering if there are enough people who need body and mechanical parts to offset the costs for me. I'm not looking to make money on this deal just make enough to offset my costs on purchasing the parts car. If someone has a need contact me and we can discuss. I'm new to Alfas so it might take me a little time to figure out what is a fair price and then what is a very good price. If I can raise enough interest then I'll purchase the car and part out what I do not plan to use. BTW, I need the A/C system also.

i`d be interested in the instrument pod. Let me know
Joe,

Anything I'm not using is up for grabs. I have no idea what the parts are worth but I will promise these parts will be much more affordable than normal. Is there anything else you might need? Almost all major mechanical parts will be for sale as will all body panels that are not damaged (from the doors back all panels are perfect). I might keep the rear lights since these are so expensive to replace. I wonder if I could change out the head from my car with the head from the parts car? It would be like having the factory do a valve job on my 90,000 mile engine. I guess I could go one step further and just take my engine out and replace it with the engine from the parts car. Will an engine from a 5 speed car bolt up to the automatic or did the engines have different cranks? Anyone know about the engines? I think the rear end gears were different between them but I have no idea if the engines were different.

Does anyone know if the '91 spider has the same front spoiler as the '86 spider (veloce)? If so, I'd be interested in the front spoiler if undamaged.

Thanks.

No, they are different... The body (and spoilers) changed in '91...

I need 91 spider, intake manifold, wiring harness and other items

To Alfateen,

I am interested some parts, Where are you located? As I'm in the Vancouver British Columbia Canada area, so if you were close in the North West that might work out very nicely. However, its not impossible, if you are located in another state. As I could make money order and UPS arrangements for drop off and pick-up.

Let me know what you would like to sell and for how much.
Frank,

I'll be happy to work with you on parts even though I am a long ways from you (Texas). I don't mind dismanteling things to get them out but I do move slow so not to break things. I have not set any prices yet and have no idea how much to ask since I am new to Alfas. I just purchased a 1991 Spider Automatic and will be picking it up in the next few weeks and driving it back home. The parts car is a 5 speed. Most of the mechanical parts will be available. If there are things you need please let me know. I have you down for the wire harness and intake manifold. I'm keeping a list of the people who ask for things and what they want according to when they asked so I know who asked first.

Dan -

Good luck with this - it's a shame that car got wrecked, but it's good every part will be put to good use. And I would pull the engine and trans as a unit - but switching your car over to 5-speed, well, do a search on this forum, as there is just way too much involve - you're better off just buying a 5-speed later down the road. Nothing wrong with an Automatic at all, some days I wish mine was. Enjoy it!
OCDUFF,

I had no intention of converting my automatic to a 5 speed. I wanted the parts car to fix up my automatic so it is like a new car again. I plan to sell the engine and 5 speed transmission from the parts car and try to keep my automatic original. The soft top and interior on the parts car are like new. I had planned to use as much of these parts as needed to restore the automatic. I had planned to use the interior, dash, A/C system and trunk carpet to fix up my automatic. I may keep a few parts as spares but most parts will be available to other Alfa owners. I only want to recoup the cost of the car not make money on this deal. Based on what some people have advised me I should sell certain parts for and what people are offering me I would say people in most cases are being quite reasonable. I have had one or two low offers but that could just be that is all they can afford.

I`m also looking for the accordian looking air intake hose that mounts on top of the cam cover area, that is if it`s not torn and the brake booster and brake reservoir. Let me know how much
