Hi, when I went to open my driver's door, it popped and then I heard what sounded like a metal piece fall inside the door and of course now it doesn't open the door. I couldn't find anything online about it breaking like this so not sure if this is common or not. Does anyone know what breaks in this case and if it is fixable?

I'm in the process of rebuilding the rear calipers and haven't had time to pull the door panel. I guess I can always swap the handle from the passenger side as I've read that both front handles are the same?

Door panels are pretty easy to get off (should you go that route). The pulls aren't complicated. It is possible that the plastic holding the spring broke. The metal sound was probably the spring falling. Hard to say until you get it out.

Centerline confirms fronts are the same. Door Handle Milano Front | Centerline International

Rears are listed as specifically right or left, while fronts are generic.
