Can anyone tell where to source the, I think 11 mm original green fuel hose that´s fuel resistant? I say "fuel resistant" as I know a vender who sells it but oddly enough its not quaranted fuel proof, for shows only he says......

Hi all,

Does anyone know the exact inner and outer diameter of the original green Cavis fuel hose ? Probably printed on it. Thanks.

Yes, except they don't advertise it specifically as "fuel proof" or "fuel resistant" so could be anything....price is juicy though if just air and water tubing.... .....

Thierry, I think the fuel hose should be 7x12 mm if to suit the small 12,5 mm Romablok flip flop clamps as in my case, but am not certain about it....

I remember from a long time ago, there was a thread on dying the newer clear hose green Soaked the clear hose with a green clothes dye and it came out green, not 100% but better than nothing

I have an original green hose with the carb fittings on it for a 60's 105. In between the fittings it marked Pirelli.

Haha, just received quote from McMaster´s agent in GB, Raptor Supplies Ind for £75 shipping for 1 meter of the green tubing that probably doesn´t weigh anything, £35 for the tubing and £75 shipping from England to Sweden, pure scam or joke, don´t know which???? The forwarder must be some kind of orbiting spaceship or something, no mentioning of the good old Royal mail where shipping cost probably wouldn´t exceed £4 !!!

Correction: see now shipping was 75 euro, not pounds, well, not that much difference really !!!

If it helps you can get it sent to me & I'll send it on via Royal Mail - would expect it to be ~ £10-£15 via their 'tracked & signed' service ...

Also - if it's the same Cavis green hose as in my earlier pictures, I paid ~ £23 including postage for 2 metres (at the end of April) ...

Thanks for the offer but I already gave up on the McMasters tubing as their site says "for air and water"....and I would have anyway because of the crazy shipping price.....I´ll order from the Italien car parts specialiss instead.....

Last fall, I ordered two meters of "original CAVIS" fuel line from SUPERFORMANCE in the UK. Great price @ £ 7.95 per. When it arrived, it was marked "CAVIS", but it barely green and nothing at all like the image on the website.

I may try to dye it if I can locate Gordon's instructions for doing so.

Ray, is it "fuel proof" or "fuel resistant"?

Dennis,

Good to hear from you!

It's still listed under the 308, 208, 288 GTO & F40 - AIR INTAKE & FUEL SYSTEMS heading and can be found @ Carburettor & Fuel System Parts for Ferrari 308, 208, 288 GTO & F40 - Superformance, so they are convinced it's safe to use as a Ferrari fuel line.

However, the price has increased by half a pound per meter to 8.45 per. It costs 6.95 to ship it from Hoddesdon Hertfordshire to Tulsa.

Are you in Prague or Sweden, this summer? Stay safe, wherever you are...

Ray, because of the coved, it is unfortunately not possible to travel this summer, there are no flights going to Prague from Copenhagen, first I can see is Norwegian from the 1st September.....so boring summer in Sweden....and with the Sweden's handling of the pandemic, nobody, no country wil let in swedes anyway....
I already decided to order from the other british based company Italien car parts specialist. I need a tubing that fits the 12,5 mm Romablok clamps and I think the 7x12 mm green Cavis they have will be the one. Don't remember the price now, but need 1 meter so it can't be so dramatical (or traumatical).. 🙃

Dennis,

Please post a photo of the new CAVIS line you are buying from Ricambi. I bought the 7 X 12 size, so I should be OK. I couldn't locate any 12,5 mm Romablok clamps, so I'll use something else.

Are you close to the place where you store your Spider?

Ray, I don't have any photo to post but Lighweight911 did here in this thread in post #8.
I've all of the 12,5 Romablok needed, that's why I'm so persistent about getting it correct once for all.
I'm not near my cars (20 miles) and weather is no good, so don't know when I'll go there.
