Original Cromodora wheels

Hey guys, I recently purchased a 1973 GTV 2000 from a gentleman that purchased it in California in the 80’s when we supposedly worked at an Alfa dealership. It has a metal panel sunroof that he swears up and down is factory installed but as I’ve seen plenty on AlfaBB it appears only dealer installed ever existed. That being said the vehicle is riding on 5 spoke original Cromodoras. All stamped made in Italy with Alfa center caps. I’ll post pictures when I have a chance but where the 5 spoke cromodoras a factory option in 73’? If so what is their rarity or significance. Thanks in advance folks. Any help for a new Alfisti is appreciated.

Original magnesium 5-spoke Cromodoras from the 1970's are desirable rims.
They were offered as a factory or dealer option.
Enjoy them!
is there anyone on the forums or archives that I can give my vin number to pull info on the car?

These are made by a company called Webasco, I believe. They were not installed at the factory, but at the port of entry. You can find GTVs in other countries that have these sunroofs. So, they were not a US only option.

given that they are not true factory though, are they considered desirable or rare? or more of a deterrent due to lack of parts and originality?
There are a ton of threads on GTV sunroofs. Here on one of many GTV Sunroof Mystery

These were dealer installed, not from factory production line.

Nice wheels! Be sure to check for cracking.

As far as the sunroof, yes they are rare, especially if they were a high quality installation that appears to have been performed at the factory. I'm sure they are desirable to some, and might warrant a premium if you were ever to sell your car. However, since most GTVs don't have sunroofs, its not something high on a buyer's deal breaker list if its not equipped as such. This differs from the BMW '02 market where a sunroof was a factory option and an item many want (besides, that big green house and lack of dash vents makes the inside of the car much warmer than a GTV). If you're lucky enough to have one, enjoy it.
