Hi all, I thought I'd better introduce myself formally as I have been lurking here for a couple of years and am now starting to post a bit as I acquired a 1750 GTV at the end of 2014 and AlfBB is definitely the best place for 105 knowledge.

I'm based in the UK, a long term Alfista. First Alfa was a brand new Sprint Green Cloverleaf in the early 1980s which I loved, that got me hooked on Alfas. I then had a gap of several years from Alfas when I was running company cars (a UK thing, Alfas are rarely an option) and living in the US for a couple of years. Since the late 90s I've had a 164 2.0 TS, a brand new 156 TS and then most recently a 156 GTA which I sold to finance the 105.

The 156 GTA was a great car that really made me a petrolhead, it got modded/improved, took me to the centenary in Milan, got me into doing track days (including Spa and Monza) and was an all round beauty. But I have always wanted a GTV6 or a 105 coupe and as I'm in my late 50s I decided the time to do it was now. I've had a Busso fix with the GTA and my wife preferred the look of the 105 to the GTV6, so 105 coupe it was. She is now pretty sorted (the car, not the wife, will post a thread in the GT area) and a joy to own and drive.

I won't be able to add much to the forum as I am a mechanical klutz. All I can do with cars is clean them and drive them...... But it's a pleasure to be here and I must thank all the knowledgeable people that have already made this place a hugely valuable resource for me in my journey to 105 ownership.

It starts subtle then before long it becomes a bit of an obsession. I'm a reader who's decided to chime in also, with the mechanical skills you'll learn a lot on this forum. 1750's are beautiful, can't wait to see it!

I've always looked occasionally at the BB while I owned moderns but since having a classic Alfa it has just been an invaluable resource. Long may the BB continue!

Indeed! I am forever sneaking out into the garage for a quick look at her...... There she is, just purring "drive me, drive me." As I work from home it's very hard to resist taking time out during the day to go for a drive.
