I have for sale a complete 105.48 air intake system. It includes the following parts:
105.48.08.010.06 - air filter canister including original FRAM/Carello filter element (NOS)
105.48.08.010.07 - air filter canister straps (NOS, pair)
105.48.08.137.00 - air filter canister rubbers (NOS, pair)
105.48.08.xxx.xx - air filter canister base (used but restored)
The canister shows signs of shelf wear and there is very superficial corrosion in various places where the paint has been scratched off the exterior. However, the silk-screened labels are in perfect condition and cannot be reproduced without great expense. With care, small spots of corrosion could be gently removed with a gel-type rust removal product and repainted in black satin after masking the labels. Or just wipe with some WD40 on a rag and leave 'as is'.
The alloy filter canister base is used and from long-term dry storage, but has been vapour blasted and all the studs have had their threads chased and then been chemically blackened and sealed in situ, including the ends which can be seen from inside the casting. In all respects, this is an as-new item.
Photos below. Rare items like these might be good for a 'preservation class' car. The price for the complete set is £330 GBP plus shipping.
Thanks,
Alex.
