Nicer seats

Does anyone have any experience putting after market seats into a S3 spider?

I am looking for something that is a bit more comfortable, but have no idea what models fit and what I need to get as far as a slider goes...

Thanks,
Ed

Two problems with aftermarket seats in a Spider - height (off the floor), and width, especially on the passenger side of the car. I'm sure some other members will chime in, but that's what you're looking at, at least from the big perspective.

bsn is absolutely right on this... Nonetheless, there is a recent Centerline alternative that I heard about via the thread "Alternative seats for Duetto".

Best regards,
Hmm, its not clear from the thread if those would fit in an S3. I have these silly arm rest that I think make mine even more narrow. However, those are very close to what I am looking for. My car now out handles my seats ability to keep me in one place, something narrow and deep would be great.

I do believe fellow bb'er bianchi has put Miata seats into his Spider......

Hey, there are already Alfa parts vendors out there selling Chinese-made parts (bearings and hydraulics, at the very least) for our Alfa's. No thank you.

I've always thought the Corbeau A4 would look nice in an S3 Spider. They're designed to fit narrower applications, and some of the race shops sell Corbeau sliders specifically for Alfa Spiders. I know for a fact they'll fit in a Series 1 Miata, which are a lot tighter on the insides than our cars. This one's been sitting in my attic for a while, waiting for me to install it in my daily driver...

One of the fastest Spiders I have ever ridden in - Joe Cantrell's early series 2, at PIR is outfitted with Miata seats. Very comfortable, and did not seem to slow him down one iota. (Built for comfort AND speed):p
Bianchi: I'd love to see pictures of the Miata seats in your Spider.

I always liked the Graduate-style seats (and those used before '85 I think), but I don't find the Veloce/Quad seats comfortable.
