Re: I "captured" the red '86 GTV6 listed on eBay

Hey Guys...

I'm now a first-time Alfa owner; last week I flew from Kansas City (I live in Kansas) to Albany, Georgia; bought the Alfa, and drove it back about 1000 miles to Kansas without any trouble! I already have several other european import cars from the 1970s and 1980s, but have never owned an Alfa. She idles a bit rough after a cold start - not sure what's causing that yet - but I'm ordering the factory and repair manuals for it. I'll need all the tech help I can get from the Alfa BB community. Thanks in advance! - Steve J.

Congrats on your Alfa. I made an offer on that one, too, she looks great!

congrats, and welcome to the world of Alfa and this great community!!!
For some reason the 2.5 liters always seem to run rough when they're cold. I don't have that problem on my 3 liter.
yeah my 2.5 is a tad ruff but i managed to smooth it WAY out compared to "normal" ruff

replace ALL of the vac lines with silicon, carb clean out the oil air seperator as well as the air control on the valvecover..and triple check and clean all of the grounds

Congratulations Steve. Welcome to the AlfaBB.

I too am new to the Alfa world, picked up my GTV6 last December. So far it's been nothing but fun and reliable.

Good luck with your new car!
Thanks, Don!

My "new" 1986 GTV6 runs well, but I know it probably needs a few (hopefully) minor things checked into to improve its performance and reliability. I can't wait to dig into it - just wish I had more time (I have too many other cars!)

By the way, what's a 744ti?

Thanks, Don!
