This seller bought the car for just about half that amount six months ago. Granted, it didn't have the wire wheels, but jeez.

Why do people want to put cheesy stickers on classy cars? I just do no understand the reasoning.

Why would anyone pay all the money for one with the stickers. the car was not worth nearly that much cash. Seems like Barrett-Jackson clients are now on ebay as well

Ebay sales are tough to figure. I'm no roundtail expert, I didn't see this as a #1 car, but it got #1 money nevertheless. I liked it except for the stickers.
There was an '81 on Ebay a couple weeks back, now I like series 2.5 because they are a great value , this one was a red homemade resto with a big sound system and shiny paint, nice, but not original and an '81, it got $14,000 or so, pretty amazing, maybe even unbelievable.

It was the Pirelli tires, just check the STICKER near the license plate.

Nope, but the "whale tail" spoiler that you recommended for the spider really looks great.
