Hi everyone, I'm a new member here and a very proud new owner of a 1988 Alfa Spider. It's a Graduate but the prior owner added some extras like leather seats, Euro cams, Daytona wheels, air conditioning etc. First thing I would like to say is I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!! I can barely describe in words how great it feels to drive this italian beauty. Prior owner took real good care of it, had all service records saved and I also brought it in to an Alfa specialist to get a few things done here and there (typical service stuff: replacing fluids/oil, valve adjustment, minor repairs etc). I also added a Magnaflow exhaust which is pure music to my ears.

I also own a 1998 BMW m3, which I've loved for many years and continue to drive it insanely hard every time I take it out (on an open road without traffic of course). I meticulously maintain it, so it looks and feels close to mint condition (and has 170,000 miles), drives like brand new.

I've been driving the Spider a lot more than my m3 right now. The way the Spider feels and sounds is just very unique and is just pure sensory overload. When I first bought the car I thought I was just going to drive it a few times a month, but I'm finding myself driving this car almost everyday. It's got 130,000 well-serviced miles on it and runs like a dream. I've also noticed the harder I drive it, the better it is for the engine. I'm pretty sure I blew out all the carbon deposits the first week I owned the car, as the engine feels even better now than before. Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself and share some pics. I can go on and on writing about how much I love this Spider, but I don't want to bore you guys and I'm also sure you already know what I mean. Anyways, here are some pics. 2011-06-14_14-25-00_327.jpg

A+ on this post! Pictures included, that saved Eric from having to threaten you :)

Sweet looking car and enjoy it. Like many things Italian, it has soul and needs to be driven!

Welcome to the Fold

Great looking Spider and your "joy" (ahem) of driving her is making me wistful.
My Quad is yet to (legally) hit the road so the waiting has been tough.:( My daily 3-season driver (with frequent trips to the redzone) is my E30 M3 with approx. 189K on the odo, so I can appreciate when you are enticed :D by the Spider. Keep enjoying!!!

Thanks guys!! Pics were taken at Angeles Crest Highway. I go there very often. Driving my Spider on canyon roads is very therapeutic. I noticed when I drive the Spider I enjoy it at any speeds, whereas in my m3, I really have to go mach 2 to get any excitement.

I won't be modding this car too much mostly because I live in california. I will probably install headers and high-flow cat and that's about it. Also a chassis stiffener would be nice as well.

I had heard red was the fastest color?? Haha...im happy with my black-on-black, although red does seem a bit more "italian."

Thanks again for all the positive feedback. I am helplessly addicted to this car. Her name is "Isadora" aka "The Screamer." :)
