hello - i am in ypsilanti michigan in the usa and just got a alfa.

i need help in figuring year, option codes, build dates (door jamb says 8/70 is this a 70 or 71)

reason for option code requests is because of roll cage and mounting for a 5 point harness in both seat compartments

car looked to be silver in jambs but some moron painted it white

want to do a full resto to this unit as it is in real good shape with a dent in quater

vin is as follows AR1485262

if you can help decode this unit or give me some ideas as to where to look that woul be great

thanks guys

I gotta believe the cage and belt mounts aren't/weren't an option that you'll find through VIN and such.

Much more likely (like around 99.999% chance) that a PO set it up and raced/intended to race/liked the race look.
this is why i need to find info is i am having no luck and they are not installed by a 2nd owner for example as they look to be installed by factory or dealer (i also build race cars also)
I found it! Holy Crap! I owned your car 31 years ago.

You're no going to believe this but I owned your very car 31 years ago. Veh ID# AR1485262. I sold it to Patrick Leonard from where I lived in Rumson NJ. I have been searching for it off and on for years! since it was my first car I have become nostalgic of the prospect of owning it again some day. I don't suppose you would consider selling it to me?

I hope you have found your long lost Italian race machine Steve, but maybe not. Did you happen to notice that the original posting was made over 7 years ago? What are the chances that Dave I still has your car? Try sending him a PM (personal message) and see if he responds. I hope you get re-united with your first love, but I wouldn't hold my breath. If you're lucky, Dave still has it and will make you a deal. If you're not so lucky, he's poured his soul into it and wants to keep it (or sold it 5 years ago). If he did sell it, he may recall who he sold it to and/or have some contact info for that person.

Good luck. I hope this story has a happy ending!
Steve, I googled his towing company that he has listed in his profile. Looks like it was renamed to Lowell Towing. The phone number is...(734) 971-5722. Give them a call and see if it still owned by this guy, Dave. Good luck on your search. I am in Michigan about 30 minutes from Ypsilanti. If you do find the car, and if its in the Metro Detroit area, I can assist you.
