Hi There, I'm getting my 1974 Alfa Spider Series 2 out and want to start a restoration ASAP.

I'm located in Parramatta NSW and so don't know where to turn to for a decent mechanic that knows Alfa's.

Can the forum make any suggestions about whom might be recommended.

Also, a good panel shop for some panel repair and ultimate total re-spary.

I should have mentioned that I purchased this car about 10 years ago and it has never been on the road since then.

I had the best intentions of getting it restored and running within 6 months of purchase, but life has a way of changing the priorities.

So it looks like now's the time to seize the moment.

Hi Freddie, give Rob Panetta at Manning Motors (North Sydney) a call. He is a specialist on 105 series Alfas, and I would happily trust him with my 105s if I lived in Sydney. He is a really nice guy.

Hi Super, I have heard of Rob Panetta. However, North Sydney is quite far for me and logistically difficult to negotiate a drop off and collect.

That's why I'm looking for someone in the outer or inner western suburbs. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Not a problem Freddie, I understand given Sydney's traffic and size !! I am sure you could always give Rob a call and ask for his advice as to perhaps who he would recommend in your area. Its worth a shot, if you don't get any other suggestions.

Speak with Chris, top bloke, no nonsense mechanic and fair dinkum with his pricing, so just around the corner and he's an Alfa nut to boot. He'll be able to recommend or organize panel work too.

Freddie,

I can also wholeheartedly recommend Frank's Pitstop Motors. They are great with Alfas and provide great customer service.

Cheers,
Charles
