Didn't very late Spiders go to a spline, like Alfettas/Milanos, rather than the taper-plus-key setup on the earlier cars? I seems to recollect this. If so, this won't fit without changes to the hub.

...that is my idea as well, this hub was made to the cars that have the horn wire in the steering columm so there is no down plate to contact!!Later cares from GTV 74 onwards had a diferent hub!!This is my idea, but i might be wrong, i´m saying this so you see alfa hubs for sell and the spc´s allways says after 74 and before 74!!!thank you Andrew

Al the best ... Paulo

No, all the cars through at least the late 70s, and perhaps mid 80s, had the taper plus keyway. If there was a change it was later than that. I'm not certain though.
Papajam, if he chimes in, will know.

Both my '86 and '87 have smooth/keyed shafts.
