Good morning - trying to sort through a box of parts that came with the '73 Spider shell and I came across this and it has be scratching my head.

It is some sort of rubber, somewhat flexible, shaped like a T.

It has a grove (pictures show it likely upside down) to press on to something.

Any ideas? Thanks!

could this be the trim that goes between the rear and the bumper?

or

bottom of a hardtop?
Good morning, and thanks for playing "what the heck is this thing". Ha.

I don't think it is for the rear bumper gap, at least not on a stainless bumper car, maybe for an impact one? The channel would put the rubber in a vertical plane however so not sure if that is how they fit.

Hard top fitting is an interesting suggestion - not sure how that actually fit on the car.

Thanks (and stay dry)!
