I had been running a Bosch 009 disributor on which I had modified the curve by adding a lighter second spring along with a MSD6AL. The Bosch gave me a good advance curve but I always thought it could be better. The main reason I was running it was because I had a "hot spark" (great company btw) ignition module in place of the points.
I decided to go back to the Marelli, my enginge just seems to like that curve best of all. I never really had top end problems with the Bosch, just the low end driveability. The motor is not stock btw. Anyway back to the point of this post.... This may be common knowledge but I thought it couldn't hurt to pass it on just in case. When running a MSD unit with points to trigger you should remove the condensor, it's not needed. It will work with it but it's not supposed to be in there. Taking it out will also increase the life of the points signifigantly. Just thought I'd pass that along, maybe it will help someone. Ya'll have a good un!
