Ooops, almost forgot!! Congratulations!! To him and to you...
Thanks, Shadow. What a journey....for him AND us! grad ceremony included only 27 kids. Very private/VIP....like Hollywood Gala night, college equivalent. First movie premiers, then Catered/wine/music/black tie/photograper backdrop. Never woulda figured....daughter who graduated same morning at another college (held in a football stadium was shocked).
Only until you come out to visit.
Can be done in 30 minutes. More like 45 minutes to an hour....hour and a half from LAX to say, silver lake/Miracle mile...
Can you be more specific on the area you need? Could help in recommending a place in the area you're going to be the most....book a hotel. No rock bottom bedbug infested/broken springs in matress places. Moderate...
Wouldn't even worry about the leaking anywhere you find. I would really try to find a place with covered off street parking. The parking spot is the more important, covered is a plus. I know you say its not guaranteed, but he will appreciate more than you can imagine, a reserved parking spot.Oh.....kinda a unrelated issue, but as our alfa leaks a few drops, couold that be a big deal with say, a Landlord/Cali pollution laws?? A garage is not guaranteed, so a cardboard under the car may not be practical outside......
Youre up early Shadow! Good to know its 30-45 minutes! Man, 1 1/2 hrs seemed like kinda far.Can be done in 30 minutes. More like 45 minutes to an hour.

Thanks, R. (I dont remember.....Robert??). Right, Thats the thing with the smaller airports. I believe they were developed for more local flights. Lay overs are costly in time.FWIW, Burbank is a nice small airport. It's best as a regional airport. From farther away, to get there, or to go most anywhere using it you end up stopping/changing planes one or more times. It can barely support 737s or AB320's, none of the big twin aisle planes. Some connections can be hours layover. The benefit of LAX is that there are lots of flights direct to lots of places. That's also the worst thing about LAX - lots of people. But you get easy cheap flights.
Burbank is a 20 minute drive for me, but if I'm going cross country, I still drive 1++ hrs to LAX - saves many hours in connections and I get better seats.
I'll take an earthquake (been thru a few) over a hurricane or tornado any time. BTW, the three largest earthquakes in the conus (Ankorage was #1) were New Madrid MISSOURI!!!!!! 9.2 - 9.6!!!!!! Just that nobody was there (1800's). Come to think of it, there's still nobody there. Who'd wanna be?Anyway, I hope you guys fared OK with the floods I heard about. Geez, if it isnt earthqqqqqqqqqqqqqquake or fires or traffic or crime or crowds or smog , its flooding.
Hope those dams hold, Racer.our nice 5 day rain storm a week+ ago - filled the reservoirs
