I have 3 2000L blocks that I'm going to part with (one way or the other). And I do believe the one has new liners in it. I pulled the rod & main caps the other day & found new bearings & the crank was smooth as fresh steel. I think this engine I'm referring to came from a 78,, not sure but it came with the Spider when purchased.
Would you be interested?
Agreed Rich, the engine was "with" the '78 and work was being done to it, then abruptly halted because PO's mechanic moved. I carted the eng. home & put it in storage w/o inspection. Briefly looking as I was pulling it from storage I noticed the dome sticking out of the block,, so maybe but not definite yet. only loaded into truck to transport.
Tell me Rich, is there an easy way to identify the pistons?
hello- i have a set that we checked before installing( used bore gauge ) and runout and spec was good. I installed them with new rings and a "hone" and the car had great compression and leakdown but burned oil. I believe with the right set of rings and matching hone for them the set is quite usable.
