Hello All
On our Montreal rebuild, we are in search
for a lower front panel, under front bumper, between the two
side fenders, part # 105.64.54.115.00/03, in parts catalog Tav 121.
We could not find a supplier who has it in stock, ready to ship.
Also we are in need of an engine rebuilder.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Palcsok,

For the lower front panel you could try AMS (Germany) or OKP (Netherlands).

If you wish, I could perform the engine rebuild for you if you are interested. I
am in the UK and am not sure where you are situated, so possibly you would
find shipping difficult or expensive ?

Regards,

Rob.

Thank you for quick reply Rob, I'll contact those companies for body parts.
As far as engine rebuild, thank you for the offer, if you provide the town to be shipped, we are going to check shipping charges. According to my restorer shouldn't be substantial.
I have some compression and leak down test on engine I can provide to your e-mail, so we have some idea what existing condition we have.
Thank you again.

Hello Palcsok,

Thanks for your reply and good luck with your hunt for the body parts.

To help with the Shipping estimate my nearest town here in UK is Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Post code ; SY4 1DB. You could send your compression test results to
[email protected]

Best regards,

Rob.

Rob, those engines look beautiful! The work shop looks like a hospital for Montreal engines. Do you work on Montreal's exclusively; I counted 5 Montreal V-8's in one photograph? Very nice!

Hi Mark,

I specialise now only with Montreals as I have for about 10 years. I always had montreals at my works for the last 28 years, but became so busy with these that I decided to turn all others away and to concentrate on these.

I made the new engine clean room 2 years ago. I clean all the components in another part of the works and only then bring them into the 'hospital' to be operated on and final assembly. I never did much building work in my life, so
making this extension to the workshops was a big learning curve and of course involved working on well into the early hours for many months, but as is usually the case, worth all the effort in the end. Even my long suffering wife has eventually come to see that the improvements are beneficial - she certainly defines the term - '' Montreal widow '' !!

I no longer do the paintshop part of the restorations, but strip the Montreals down ready for fabrication / painting and build the cars back up again on their return from the paintshop. 3 are away at present and another 3 in the reassembly process.

Best regards and thanks for your interest,

Rob.

Fantastic work Rob.

Any chance of a picture of yourself next to some of your work? It would be great to put a face to the phone calls and emails I've has with you.

Regards
Phil.

Could be Palcsok is Hungarian :)

Rob Thomson: I am also in need of Montreal engine parts for 3L and a contact with an expert. Your showing up here could give you more customers!

Philip: Your 3L project is very interesting for me, but info lags:) Would love to hear more about your project if you find time! Mail or PM?

Excellent! The quality of your work and your workshop shows in your photographs. It is very good that you enjoy what you do and do it well. We have fewer Montreal's on our island (USA) and fewer people that know how to repair one. Fortunately, help is often not too far away from my computer.
Keep up the good work!

Phil, here are a couple of photos of myself as you asked for - sorry for the delay.

Gabor (GK), I do not think I can help you with 3 litre engine parts - maybe Phil would be able to advise ?

John Perry, Mark, Many thanks for your kind and flattering comments re. my workshops, etc. - I do appreciate it.

Rob.

Hannelore,

Sorry you did not receive your engine yet ! It went to Cyprus to be in the sun
and would not come back - I assume it likes it there. Do not worry, I made you a new one this morning and I shall put it in the mail to you.

Congratualation Rob!!
My engine is in need of a lot of attention!
Well, actually the WHOLE car is in need of attention, as I 've just bought this Monti in really poor condition.
I'm going to send you a PM so I can address you some question on the matter.
Keep on going I like your pics so go wild with photo details!
