Hi

The current rules are that someone needs to have 10 posts before posting photos.

However, there are times when this might have been useful for an exception to be made - just like when we tantalised with a Giulietta Sprinte Veloce barn find in France. The person making the find couldn't post a photo of the car or the chassis number - and now other develops mean that they now no longer need to.

Should Alfa BB have a mechanism to make exceptions?

Juts thinking about this further, perhaps the newbie could PM the photos to a moderator, who could then post them on their behalf?

Any other good suggestions?

From personal experience, moderating (dealing with spammers, idiots, and resolving legitimate issues) consumes at least 1 hour of volunteer time per person per day. So, trying to make work for Admins and Mods is not a good idea. Hence, my rule of thumb for equal values came into being:

1 minute of Administrator time is worth 1 day of your life.
1 hour of Moderator time is worth 1 day of your life.

Inconvenient as the 10-post rule may be, I'm pretty sure it got rid of a lot of spammers. There is a Testing Area where the post count can be increased without diluting meaningful AlfaBB content.
