Hello Everyone,
I have recently relocated to NOLA and am looking for work. I have been around Italian cars for 30+ years and owned several Alfas. Currently investigating establishing a shop at the new race track in Avondale? Would love to hear from local Alfisti.

Email Tim Spruill, semi-local (B.R. area) should be linked through previous posts under his name. He is AROC chapter president, good place to start.

Hi David,

I am in need of an alfa mechanic, can you please call me @ 504 450-1066?

Also you mention working at the track, do you mean NOLA Motorsports? If so that would be great but I would like to know, thinking about selling my 67 Alfa race car, in fact have an offer on the table so a quick response would be ideal.

Thanks

Hello New Orleans! Yes the brand new NOLA Motorsports Park is scheduled to be open by the end of the year. I am working in the Speed Shop and am excited to tell that our new facility is filled with all the latest equipment and a well seasoned staff that can handle just about any auto job. This place is crazy good and we will be hosting a Grand Opening Party early next year and it is my hope that a large number of Alfisti will show! You can all be my personal guests!
I spoke to Jeff and he is coming by tomorrow. Stay tuned for more!

Looks like I found you before you found me. Glad to have a real life Alfa mechanic in the area. We have several cars down your way in need of a mechanic. Best recommendation I can give is to join the club and come to a meeting or two. Within no time you will be Alfas in need rolling, driving, or being towed to your shop!

I know of at least one car owner who is in dire need of a mechanic. Send me a PM for more info.

I guess it is even more ironic that there was at least one person who contacted me looking for a mechanic in the Slidell area!! If only I had known you were there!

On 12/29 I was involved in the aftermath of the 40 car pile up on I10 and lost our families perfect Mercedes Benz. Insurance will not give me very much for the car. I am considering buying an Alfa to replace it. I was thinking about a transaxle car if anyone has any ideas contact me. I also have a boat to trade if that helps?

Syngenta Car Show

Anyone going to this Show on Saturday in Gonzales?

Might bring the 89 Spider I just finished quite a bit of work on.

Gonzales show

Wish I could go to the show, but the list of things needing to be done keeps getting longer. I hope there will be at least a few Alfas there.

Take pics and post them, please.

Ciao,

Mike

are you still in New Orleans? There were 3 alfa spiders in my neighborhood alone. I recently moved to Hammond and I have 2 1986 spider veloce and I could use an experienced mechanic right now to help me out with an ignition problem

Yes I am still in New Orleans and have a small shop at the track (NOLA Motorsports Park) in the rental garages. I have the GTA clone there and will be replacing a clutch in a 87 Spider this week.
I have also spent considerable time collecting the special tools to properly set up and adjust SPICA fuel injection.
Today I met Tim Spruill at Circuit Grand Bayou. Great guy.

GTV roll cage hoops

I was making a roll cage for a GTV and ended up with two main hoops that were not as snug as I liked. Driver is very tall and needs max room. $50 each OBO must pick up @NMSP

Hi, An Alfisti visiting NOLA and needing an Alfa fix!! Due to the age of this post fear this endeavor has vaporized!!?? But hope springs eternal in my Alfa heart, so will give this a bump and see what bolts fall out!! Would be nice if any NOLA Alfisiti could provide info on Alfa centric things to do in the "Big Easy"!! Thanks in advance Ciao Paul

Paul - go on the AROC website then to Chapters. The Deep South Alfa Romeo Club might have something going on, but I'm afraid it's a long shot. There is a small private collection (no Alfas) in Gulfport, MS - Busted Wrench Garage. The owner, John Hans, has a variety of cars in his "museum" attached to his business.

I moved away from the MS Coast 2+ years ago, so I'm a little out of touch, but there's no much Alfa fix you can get in NOLA. Oh, there is a new dealer (Alfa and Maserati, I think), but I'm not sure where.

Good luck. Hopefully more Alfisti will chime in.

Hmm, I don't think we have any Alfa related stuff going on any time soon. We just had a meeting at middendorfs a week or so ago and this is it for us until January some time. It won't be specifically Alfa related, but I am told there are a couple of cars and coffee groups meeting up in the New Orleans area on various weekends. I am in Baton Rouge and our group meets up on the first Saturday of each month in the overflow lot of the local MB dealer. Not sure if any of that was helpful. Our chapter is really spread out. It makes it difficult to get things going.
