Slightly off-topic: I am in need of some major work on my '89 Spider Quad (clutch, possible tranny rebuild, tune-up including valve adj., steering box, maybe springs and shocks). No way to attempt it myself. Body, chassis and interior all solid and in one piece.

Looking for someone within 500 miles of where I live - Yellowstone area in Wyoming. Possible locations include Billings, Bozeman, Boise, Salt Lake City, maybe as far as Denver. I don't trust that dealers would be up on older models (correct me if I'm wrong) and may unnecessarily deplete my funds. So, an independent shop preferred.

ANY help much appreciated - THANKS!

Mark

New Alfa dealers won't touch your car as their techs aren't trained on older Alfas and they have no supply of factory parts. Most of the shops in Denver won't touch your Alfa because it's "too new," but here are a few options:

Call Bill at Maranello Motorworks. Maranello Motorworks Ferrari Maserati Service and Repair Denver CO

Ferrari of Denver is supposed to be hiring a mechanic familiar with Alfa's in October.

Nick at Mid Century Motors in Boulder: CONTACT | Mid-Century Motors (midcenturymotorsltd.com)

Apple Motors in Wheat Ridge

Call Centerline and ask. There are a couple of shops up their direction that might be able to do the work.

Be prepared to wait a couple months.

Thank you 6alfas. It's as I suspected. As luck would have it I am headed to Boulder Thursday morning. I will follow up on your leads including a visit to Centerline.

Colorado seems like a long drive, but yes there are good shops around Boulder. Centerline would know who to go to. (Boulder is where I saw my first Duetto every morning with a HS summer job). And no, a new dealer wouldn't know what to do with an '89 Spider, even though they're not that complicated.

Are you in easier range of Billings? I see European Performance handles all kinds of "exotics."

I see these guys...

I don't know Bozeman, but I see The Auto Works...

I'm in Missoula now. We have a place called Zip Auto. The owner takes care of many exotic collector cars, as well as his own. Like, a warehouse of cool cars. Vintage Bentleys to Ferraris. Sometimes a bit tough to get a time slot I've heard.
