Head buying a 1990 Alfa spider veloce. The price seems ok. Tells my needs new floor pans and trunk pan. Putting these is no problem for me. I see they have them available. The engine will run with engine spray. Says fuel pump bad. Clutch needs new master and slave. Plus lines. Says painted not long ago. So how much body filler hiding?
I have rebuilt classic cars before so the work is no issue. Just rebuilt LS1 for friend

So what do I need to look for

The rocker panels provide the primary longitudinal structure for the car. if the car has rust (and it sounds like this one has plenty), those rockers may very well be rusted. It’s difficult to see the extent of the rust under fresh paint.

Welcome!

If it was easy & inexpensive the seller would have the work done and be able to get a much better price. Unless the car is very cheap (and your labor is free...) it is likely less expensive in the long run to buy a car in better condition.
