I remember being totally mesmerized by their beauty, seeing BAT 5, BAT 7 and BAT 9 exposed together somewhere in the mid-90’s, when living in Amsterdam. Not sure if it was at the ‘La Belezza Necessaria’ exhibition in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam or that it was at the biannual AutoRAI car show. Having a passion for art and design, I remember the horror of reading that a phillistine had simply clipped of the wings of the BAT 7 in the mid-50’s, being unable to repair them when the rear got damaged in a racing incident.

Interesting that they're being sold (as a set!) at a contemporary art auction instead of an auto auction house. That would be a heck of an art installment in your garage! Can you pick a favorite?

It’s the only lot in the auction, if I understand it correctly.

FWIW, the auction link is here (estimate is $14-20 Million for the lot).
