As part of my new carpet installation for my S4, I want to remove this left knee pad. I will detach fuse box and dashboard dimmer wiring connections (I see my way forward on this), but do I follow a procedure as though I'm replacing the hood release cable, and, if so, any suggestions on doing this?
BTW, this carpet replacement is not for the "faint of heart", it seems to me. But I think I'm maybe 15% of the way there.!?!?
Thanks.

IIRC to remove the left knee bolster you need to detach the hood release cable from the lever, yes. If you have the service manual there's a procedure in there.
