The leval in the master cylinder goes donw about 1/8 inch every 4 or 5 days. I have looked but I havent seen any obvious leaks, are there any places that are commonly a problem? Im going to look carefully at everything again tomorrow and see if i can figure it out.

A brake MC can leak internally into the booster. This will ruin the booster if left unchecked. Master cylinders are cheap and boosters are expensive, so I would check this out ASAP.

Yea, I dont really feel comfortable driving it anymore until I figure out whats wrong, I will certainly check that tomorrow if I dont see a obvious leak somewhere else. I always have bad luck with brakes it seems, part of the reason I sold my last car is that the brakes were never right.

Although you would probably see evidence of fluid on the ground, common leakers on the 116/119 Alfas are the clutch slave cylinder and the rear calipers.

I still cant find any leaks. I guess just dont worry about it unless it gets worse? I am concerned that if I took it to a mechanic that they would take it apart and tell me it was not safe to drive and needed $2k in repairs before they would put it back together, which there is no way i could afford to pay. lol

Sounds like the master is leaking into the booster. If you carefully pull the master, being very careful not to distort the brake lines, etc., if it's wet back there, behind the master, into the booster, that's your problem. Replace the master and you are good to go. You are loosing a lot of fluid which should be highly visible. Look under each caliper first to see any wetness from leaks. For assembly, don't tighten the master fully until the brake lines are started, that way they'll thread more easily. Be extremely careful with these lines! They are delicate. I like to use a tiny bit of vaseline on these threads for starting purposes.

Alright. I didn't mention that in order to inspect the master, disconnect those delicate, fragile brake lines first. This will make a mess, so use plenty of rags. On the bench you can pry off the reservoir. I usually spray everything with WD-40 before and during disassembly/reassembly. It's cheap insurance.

I just went through this last week. On my car my brake boost died all of the sudden. Lo and behold... no brake fluid in that massive reservoir and it was changed recently. Never saw a single leak or pool in my driveway or at work where I park. So I filled it up... next night, pool. It was the RR caliper. Doesn't sound like your issue but it was a mystery for me for a bit.
