There's an interesting piece at the R&T website about the land speed record setting Spider that's now up for sale.

Who could forget this canary yellow aerodynamically sculpted Spider from when it ran at Bonneville back in 2009. It was powered by a turbocharged twin-spark 2.0-liter producing 500hp, and set a trap speed of 234 mph on its way to setting a class record with a two way run of 230mph.

My understanding is that the wheelbase would have to be increased for it to be stable at higher speeds and the owner of the car did not want to do that. It is most likely a museum piece.

Same thing I heard. I wonder if the car comes with Jim Steck's latest engine?
