I don't know anything about the Boxer Alfas, but the lambda probe (a.k.a. oxygen sensor) is used to determine how rich to make the fuel mixture... If you disconnect it, the car will run overly rich. If it is no longer functional, the car will behave the same way. It's absolutely critical to have one in good working order.

Best regards,
thanks for the information...i think i will change the lambda
Hi,

In case you disconnect the Lamda sensor then the ECU will run in open loop mode meaning that it doesn't collect data from the Lambda and run on preset values of air and fuel.

For sure emmisions will be higher than normal.

Do you have engine running problems? Why do you think the lamda sensor is shot?

Regards
