Novice mechanic and Alfa newbie here.
I'm ready to mount the intake manifold on my Bosh-L 1984 Spider.
Pictured is the gasket (both sides) that came with the kit that came in the boxes of parts.
My question is whether or not and, if so, what sealant I should use on this gasket. And, which side goes against the block?
Thanks!

Intake gasket sealant?

You should not use a sealant.

On modified induction systems where the manifold is raised and there is inadequate space for gaskets, Permatex Ultra Grey is what we use. It is gasoline proof.

So, to be clear.

A. I should put nothing on this gasket.

B. Unless I miss my guess, the plain side should go against the block and the side with the rubber seal should face the manifold.
