'71 doesn't have a rheostat, there are three switches across the console, center one is for the instrument lights, but for the life of me, I don't remember either whether it controls them all or just the minor gauges. I suppose I could run out to the garage for a few minutes . . .Probably so but in typical Alfa fashion the rheostat for dash lighting only controls the center console gauge lighting - not the tach/speed lighting. (or maybe it's the other way around...?)grease after cleaning off the connections - it helps stave off future corrosion.
