I must have missed something. Did you really install a Ford gearbox in your Spider? Does the car have its original engine? If so, why would you do such a thing?

ktrout...same alf 2 liter motor, and bellhousing.. just a t5( mustang wc) tranny..i went trho 2 alfa trannys in 4 years. first one came with the car.. 2 nd one was re-built, had problems with the rebuild.. got stuck in 5 th gear when hot.. he rebuilt it, but the ' chinese' ( found out after i took the tranny apart) fell apart.. so alfa tranny 1000-2500$ or do something diff..( what do you think i went for?)so after a few deisings. i now have a 1997 t5( mustang tranny) in my car...oh yes.. that 2 peice stell alfa driveshaft and the gilbo.... gone.i now am running a 1 peice alumiun driveshaft..weight diff? you ask.. well the whole alumiumn d/shaft weighs less the just the front part of the alfa d/shaft.

Thanks for the pics. Does the driveshaft have a sliding splined joint like the Alfa part?
