Found this piece after moving the car in the driveway. It was on the ground behind the passenger seat.

It is plastic (yellowish but may be from age), 5/32" thick, approx 2" in diameter.

It looks like it may be part of a bracket holding some brake/fuel lines under the car. Anyone else know or would like to guess?

I like your thinking...I will crawl under there tomorrow and take a peek. I have the telltale rumble behind the driver's seat in 1st gear so that makes sense. Thanks!

Other ideas still welcome....

I think the plastic shims for the rear axle trunion look similar to that and I remember them as being yellow. They also have a tendency to desintigrate. Based on where you found it, the rear transmission mount sounds more likely but as long as you're crawling around under there you might check the trunion as well.
