I think my VVT's doing a Jed Clampett

I've been told there's an O-ring in there that's probably shot. Can this repair be done by someone willing but perhaps not able or should I take to the pros?

You can do it.

Just unscrew the 3 screws that holds the VVT on the cam cover and take it off. You will see the small copper plate that holds the O ring, take that off and you will see the O ring.

Take the O ring off and take it down to the hardware store to find one the same size. I found one at Westlakes Hardware.

Here's a pic of the copper plate that holds the O ring.

The picture is looking up from the bottom of the VVT. I had installed a O ring on the outside of the copper plate by mistake in this photo. The O ring goes behind the cooper plate.

Murray, you are the man. Did it today and it appears to have fixed the problem. Thanks.
No problem, but I can't take credit for it. It was Tifiso who told me how to fix mine. Now it's your turn to help someone. :)

I see you have a black Spider, your a lucky man........you do know, don't you that the black Spiders are the fastest ones! :D:D
