Guys,

Just got my new 71 Alfa GTV home. funny thing is it has minimal rust but in the expected places like the lower front wings and spare time well. It had some rust at the bottom of the front windshield and the cowl is pretty well rusted. BUT when I got the car home I took off the front cowl and discovered that the are below the wiper motor was so heavily rusted there was no material existing . Its a HUGE problem. What can I do? I bought the car as is. I can fabricate but this seems major. Are there existing clips of this part? Any recommendations ? I may just weld in some stock but it wont be correct. Any advise is welcome and very appreciated. :cursing::thumbdown::exclamation::crying:

That can be repaired (welded) and the good news is that it can be repaired invisibly, since it is covered by the cowl. Best is to find a donor part.
On the other hand, how are the rocker panels, and rear wheel arches? Are they OK? Usually they are the first to go.

Get the area blasted, find a donor car . Start cutting and welding - at least it's not in a really visible spot.
