Hi,

Started to rebuild the engine as a part of my Spider restoration project.

I gave the parts to a workshop to check the engine condition and rebuild the head.
They told me that the pistons should be replaced.
They will get the old liner out, my question is, how do I get the new ones in?

Thanks,
Saar.

The toughest part is getting the old ones out...but a liner puller will make this a relatively easy task. The new liners simply drop in place...they are not pressed in. You should avail yourself of a workshop manual (if you haven't already done so that is) so as to avoid possible mistakes during the reassembly stage.

main thing is clean the ca ca out of the parts especially the top of that block. I pressure wash mine to get the big stuff and all the junk that settles at the bottom of the water jacket in the block then use scotch bite pads to clean up the mating surfaces where the liner O rings contact the block.
