how to fix broken Parking Cable's Rubber Holder

614 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  karlcchen
My 94 614LS parking cable's rubber holder has broken on one side, the other side is on the verge of breaking now. They secured the cables from moving about as rear wheels go up and down. It looks like they only come with the cables, do they sold it separately? This musr be a common problem for 164, anyone has solution yet?

Karl, I don't think the rubber holders (near the calipers) are that important for cable operation. But you don't want the cable to hang down or move around too much . I suggest use some nylon cable/zip ties to secure the cable and then check operation.
It is the moving about the worried me, and zip tie can't secure it so it is not moving longitude on driver's side - at least that's the way I am doing it.
I already saw some abrasion of cable's outer cover on the upper metal holder on driver’s side cable.
