I have a 71 GTV 1750 US version with the front
turn signal under the bumper, and the large
square side marker lights.

I want to convert to the Euro front bumper
with the turn signals above the bumper, and
the small round side marker lights.

Since my car will be going to the body shop to
be painted, I was thinking they could install
the new lights and bumper as well.

Is it as simple as cutting new holes above
the Euro bumber on my US version, or are the US
cars' bumpers mounting point to high?

Thanks

Here's pic of the Euro bumper/lights I want.

AFAIK, the bumper mounts of all the Bertone coupes are the same. If you have a Euro series 1 bumper, which has the light assys attached to the bumper, it should bolt right onto the car with no mods. But a series 2 bumper has no lights. Although the bumper should bolt right up, the lights are mounted to the front valance which will require hole cutting. Series 1 and 2 lights are not interchangable. IMO, the S1s look much cleaner 'cause there's no over riders.

BTW, what color is the car gonna be? AR501?

Jim,

Thanks for the info. No problem cutting holes,
since she will be at the body shop anyways.

Gotta agree with you on the S1 lights are the
cleanest. I pretty much thought that they would
not be interchangeable with the S2 cars.

I hate the US hanging lights, looks like an
afterthought. So Im gonna order a Euro bumper,
and lights and have them cut the holes.
The US side markers gotta go also, they ruin
the clean lines of the car.

I am thinking of painting my car a dark green.
British racing green I think, unless Alfa has
a nice dark green color code. I like red, but
Im afraid of the car becoming a ticket mobile.:D

The original color was Ocher, which I really dont
care for.

Jim,

I forgot to ask, cant I just remove the over riders?
IMO they are also very ugly.

Thanks
Keven.

Not sure how the over riders mount but if it's with a single bolt thru the bumper, the empty holes may be even uglier.
