I am preparing for battle with the insurance company.

The number you show is your cars serial number. That should be all the insurance company needs to have all the details on your particular car. The early 164's were available in the USA from about 1991-1993 in three versions: 'Base', 'L' for Lusso or Luxury and 'S' for Sport. In around 1994-1995 there were two 164 models imported, the 'LS' for Luxury Sport or 'Q' for the Quadrifoglio model. All models 'more or less' had their designation indicated on the trailing edge of the trunk lid.

This is true, but I need the version code to determine how many of my particular version were imported.
It is a 164 S set up by Auto Delta with no rev limiter. Badged on dash Auto Delta

Auto Delta are a tuning company. Why would you possibly want the rev limiter removed? It is there for a reason and very easily triggered = very needed. Would Auto Delta now have data on your car? How do you know they did anything to it? Anyone can add a badge?
I also don't understand why your insurance company cares how many are imported.
As Mark said, the serial number should be all that is needed to identify your car's details. Do you not have a metal plate on the left of the car, under the bonnet in front of the strut mount, with engine and other data stamped on it? Has such a plate been removed? Looks like the photo is of the right side.

In my case involving an insurance company the reference we used in the claim and correspondence was the VIN number. As far as importation numbers is concerned, 6,960 Alfa 164 were imported into North American in the years 1990 and 1991 (3,482 in 1990 and 3,478 in 1991). I don't have breakdown for B, L, or S.

The car had the chip and badge where I got it. It is not just a badge.
ECU chipped ( very old chip) labels on chip & ECU Autodelta spa.
I don't know this thread would piss anyone off. My apologies. Just looking for info. The last Alfa's I had were 74 GTV6 and an 83 GTV6. Not used to the later stuff

You might have had a 74 GTV but not a 74 GTV6.
