Any help with knowledge how to get the hood release Cable thru the lever assembly. The end is ENCASED THRU A SQUARE NUT by factory. Any thoughts on how to get it thru so I can replace with a new assembly??
very much appreciated. SEE ATTACHED PIC’s.

Well, I was studying that problem and I see only one way around that .. Remove the cable from the under hood latch and pull it thru. It’s not broke so not going to fix it. Just wanted to figure it out in case it ever snaps as I noted happens.

believe me it will break one day.....and you will really struggle to open the hood when it snaps at the latch under the hood.

Fit an emergency cable now.......takes 10 minutes...lots of posts on BB about emergency hood and trunk cables:)

I agree... The wire is encases in a black plastic covered sheath like a bicycle cable. The loop with the hole in it is pinched on that cable. You will need to disconnect the wire at the latch under th hood and pull the whole length out leaving the casing in situ. This is a feature to allow one to grease the length of the wire to reinsert it from inside the car into the sheath if it dries out . So intuitively you want to take the shot cut...when it has to go the whole length of the wire.
