A friend of mine has a 1995 Honda Civic that absolutely will not start in the rain or snow. Doesn't get spark. The distributor cap is new, not cracked and on tight. Car is bone stock, no mods whatsoever. Anybody have any idea what it could be? I know next to nothing about Civics.

Maybe your Friend Should Buy a 164!

It may be much more reliable than an Honda Civic!:)

Actually I don't know much about Civic's either, but I couldn't resist the dig!

If the car doesn't spark only when it is wet, it has to be a leak to ground on the low voltage or high voltage sides of the ignition system. I would look for broken insulation on the low voltage wiring to the coil(s?) or as a "shotgun" approach, changing the coil, rotor, disributor cap, spark plug wires, etc.

I had a Volvo like that. I just named it "Olaf the lazy" and let it sit when it wanted too. Just think of a nice name from Japan, and wait until it's warm and sunny!

I recommend moving to a drier climate. :D
