Enjoying my "new" '84 GTV-6, but running low on fuel. Has a locking three spoke gas cap that looks original. When locked, the cap doesn't move. When the key is turned 180 degrees, the cap may be turned, but it doesn't come off. It just spins. Is there a trick to this, or do I have stripped threads? Sitting at a gas station now, looking for a quick fix! Ideas?

D'Oh! Next time I'll try removing the cap in both key positions before posting. It wasn't locked in the first place. It's 105 degrees here in Texas at 7 pm, and my AC needs repair, so go easy on the flames! Fortunately a photo of the backside of the cap, posted elsewhere in the forum, showed me my error.

BTW, take good care of that gas cap. They are quite expensive.
