Hello everyone

New member here and new owner of a GTV 2000 1974. Just had to replace water pump and after filling radiator with new coolant, heater does not seem to work very well. I was told by a mechanic who had worked on this car to leave radiator cap open after filling with front end slightly raised. Said the heat lines would burp air out of them? Any advice appreciated. Love the ride and have only had for two weeks. Unfortunately, water pump went two days after we bought it!!

Thanks

There's a bleed screw on the top of the intake manifold to get air out.
Does the heater valve work? Move control, see if you can feel any warm air coming out with fan on. Common problem is valve bladder, with age, swells and no water can get through. It's not that hard to replace valve, it's above your accelerator foot.

Thank you - I think it worked itself out as heat is flowing now after a few drives.
