Hi,

am in the process of replacing the starter on my 24v 164 and as have the plenum chamber and false firewall off seems a good time to change the overdue heater matrix (misting up inside screen issues).

From the look of it will probably need to disconnect the aircon circuit and loose all the refrigerant. Is this avoidable? If do need to disconnect it how to safely de-pressurise it?

Thanks,

Richard

You might want to replace blower motor, too.
See this whole thread for blower motor and heater core info and go to post 33-36 I added wiper motor removal to the new process and still leave freon in system and lift evaporator box at an angle.

Thanks Steve,

will take a look at that thread.

Cheers,

Richard

P.S. Looked at the thread and the link in it to the heater matrix change is no longer active.
