While many of us are whooping it up with BBQ and beer, let's not forget to honor those brave guys overseas in the sweat and blood and taking fire that make it possible for us to live in comfort and safety . . . . and their families that sit back here in apprehension and worry. Like our founding fathers that risked life and fortune to resist tyranny, so do the best of our sons now.

In this media age of Paris Hilton's moronic behavior and the yesterday's reckless driving and drug arrest of the son of a prominent politician, we need to remember that we've got a lot of really outstanding young men and women in our armed forces. I'm talking real men that can walk-the-walk, and not the blithering boy-dolts that pass for "cool" on TV.

When I go out to the base and meet the young pilots in my old squadrons, it makes me proud.

Here's a great short clip that'll make you proud of them to:

This is a very powerful and moving clip. Almost every photo is stirring and compelling. Thank you for sharing this video.
In thinking about our troops and their families I believe we need to do all we can to help them on their return. CNN ran a piece on an organization set up to help wounded veterans and their families. Here is the link to the article:

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/07/03/pysk.baker/index.html

The organization is called Operation First Response and their website is:

http://www.operationfirstresponse.org/index.htm

This non-profit organization is well worth our support. I believe we should all do what we can to help our veterans and active duty personnel to show we appreciate them putting their lives on the line. I am always wondering how to help these brave men and women when I read of their suffering and financial problems , I believe sending a donation to Operation First Response will in some small way help.
